November 15. 2007, I will never forget that day. It was the day I hit rock bottom. Holding my 7 month in my arms, I watched my 2.5 year old under a table banging his head on the floor, screaming as he lay in diarrhea, which never seemed to stop. That moment, I knew something was horribly wrong with my son. His diagnosis of “Severe Autism” came shortly after that day. The Doctor told me that we should start saving for a special home to take care of him instead of college. She also told me there is no cure for Autism, it is most likely genetic and no diet or supplements will help, in fact, they are just a waste of money. Her final words of advice was that we could try some medications to control his behavior.
This is where my journey began. My journey to find the root cause of his symptoms which included... No sleep, stomach pain, diarrhea, limited eating, cravings, milk addiction, yeast rashes, rages, OCD, stimming, scripting, sensory processing disorder, sensitivity to sounds and water, non-verbal, eye tics, flapping, and worst of all I don't think he had any idea who I was.
I found answers and I want to share them with the world! Over 10 years of therapists, and some of the best specialists in the country, my son has recovered. My journey lead me to a promise I made to GOD that if he could guide me, I would help others going through the nightmare that I went through. My certifications as a Health coach and Neurofeedback Technician, along with my partnership with some of the best Doctors in Rochester has allowed me to keep my promise and for that I am so grateful.
